We’ve all been there scrolling through Instagram or YouTube Shorts, stopping at a breath-taking view and wondering, “Where is that place?” The vibe is perfect. You want to go. But soon enough, the moment passes because planning a trip takes work, searching for the destination, building an itinerary, finding flights, checking the weather it all gets overwhelming.

That frustration inspired our team of four to build something smarter. As part of the GenAI 5-Day Intensive Kaggle Course, we developed a virtual AI travel planner that turns a single destination image into a complete, personalized travel itinerary from flights to local tips.

🚀 What Inspired the Project?

The idea was born from a simple use case, people often save or screenshot beautiful locations from social media but rarely follow through on planning the trip. Why? Because they don’t know where the place is or how to begin planning. Our goal was to build an AI tool that bridges that gap.

This assistant, powered by Generative AI and few-shot prompting, collects just the essentials and handles the rest:

• Departure city
• Image of the destination
• Travel dates and number of days
• Budget
• Interests (e.g., adventure, relaxation, culture)

With this info, the AI creates a full itinerary in structured JSON format perfect for app or website integration.

• Flight Suggestions: Round-trip options with price and duration.
• Weather Forecast: Get destination weather insights for your travel period.
• Accommodation: Hotel suggestions tailored to your budget and location.
• Day-by-Day Itinerary: Activities, site visits, and cultural stops all mapped out.
• Transport Planning: How to get around locally, time and cost included.
• Budget Breakdown: Know your costs flights, hotels, food, and more.
• Packing Guide: Smart list based on the weather and activities.

🧠 How It Works

We used few-shot prompting a technique where the AI learns the expected output format from just a few examples. No need to train a full model. The AI takes your minimal input and generates a complete, well-structured plan based on real-world travel logic.

This tool isn’t just a travel assistant it’s proof that AI can solve real-world, everyday problems. Whether you’re a student, a busy professional, or someone who just loves to travel, this AI agent removes the complexity from trip planning.

And the best part? You can go from “I want to go there” to a full itinerary without ever opening 10 browser tabs.
